Dedicated and Compassionate Legal Representation

Our entire staff at William W. Knowles is dedicated to offering large firm representation with small firm attention. Focusing on a few specific areas of practice together with the implementation of modern technology, we believe that our firm has the ability to compete with all other firms in the services we provide.

Our History

The firm has provided legal services to individuals throughout the state of Indiana since first established by Hugh J. Baker, Esquire, in 1934. For more than 70 years, our firm has focused on estate planning, wills, trusts, trust administration, litigation, and other issues related to estate planning.

Development of the firm name:

  • 1934-1946: Binkley & Baker
  • 1946-1973: Baker & Orbison
  • 1973-1983: Baker Orbison Bales & Knowles
  • 1983-1998: Knowles & Associates
  • 1998-2007: Knowles & Associates LLC
  • 2007-Present: Knowles & Associates P.C.

Though the name of our firm may have changed, our spirit has remained the same. We are proud to continue the tradition of providing quality representation and commitment to our clients by standing by them and their families throughout the entirety of the representation.

Our Credentials

The Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers has certified that the firm has been recognized for high professional legal standards and ethics.

The Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register is limited to only the most distinguished law practices; those that have achieved the AV® rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. The “A” signifies the highest level of legal ability, while the “V” denotes “very high” adherence to the professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence.

Our Approach

One of the things that sets William W. Knowles. apart is our devotion to handling cases with a team approach. Instead of one lawyer working with a case, all lawyers and appropriate staff take an interest and participate in the development of each case as needed, which results in lower rates for overall time billed. Our charges reflect the lower overhead and efficiency of a small firm.
